View Full Version : Change the law?

The big problem with some timeshares is that they probably SHOULD be out of business, but there is no regular market mechanism to make them do so. They can just "assess" their losses.

I have a timeshare that I would LOVE to get rid of (even giving it away), but I don't have the time to track down every option. I would be fine with a Quit Claim Deed (I paid this off YEARS ago, and haven't used it even for exchange in 5 years)

It seems to me that changing the law on timeshares to require the timeshare to accept a unit back into inventory without compensation (assuming that the purchase is paid) would be a good way to make the industry more responsive.

Would anyone be interested in either a class-action suit or a lobbying effort to get such a law in place?

It seems to me that there should be a law that says that the timeshare company has to take back the timeshare if it has been fully paid for and the owner no longer wants it. As it is now, timeshare owners are stuck in never ending payments with few options to get out.

Definitely, I will join you in the action if this is feasible for us to do.

I am so stressed whenever I think of my timeshare.

The problem is that there is nobody on the side of us. The timeshare industry has a huge lobby and there is nobody against them except for a bunch of individuals that don't have the resources they need.

If we want to take action against a corrupt industry it is going to take action. Marketing, Campaigning and a March on Washington wouldn't be a bad idea.

With millions of time share owners feeling trapped there has got to be a better course of action.

Hello everyone,

Is it practical that the timeshare owners /victims stand together and hire a class action attorney to fight against the dirty industry, especially, the timeshare companies in the state of Florida?

I would be glad to be a part of any action that might set these timeshare scams straight.

unfortunately, Mexico´s law does not protect the consumer.

Usually the lies are verbal and the contract usually states the opposite what the salesman claimed.
