I received a call from a representative "best resort rental and sale" and wanted to know if I was interested in renting or selling my Summer Bay Vacation Timeshare.

When I asked what he thought I could get for it, he told me that they could sell it for between $15,000 to $19,000 and rent it from $2700 to $3200. The catch is that in order to do this, I have to pay an upfront fee of $700.

Is anyone familiar with this company or worked with them in the past? Is this just another scam?

I think that most people knowledgable about reselling timeshares will say that you should not pay an upfront fee. If you do, then once it has been paid you'll never hear from them again.

If they are legitimate, tell them that instead of paying an upfront fee, they can have double or triple that fee from the proceeds of that $15,000+ sale. I doubt that they will accept the offer which will confirm it's a scam, but it's worth a try.

My concern with what the company told you is the inflated value of the purchase
and rental prices. With the resale market being so competitive it is nearly impossible
to realize that type of sale/rental $$$'s.
