I have given up hope of getting any money for my timeshare so I wanted to just give it away to a charity, but none of the charities on your list wanted it. Why would the charity refuse to take a timeshare that I was giving to them for free?

Charities want the timeshares that they can easily resell and make a profit on. If your timeshare is a unit at a resort that will be difficult to sell, then they don't want it because they don't want to be stuck paying maintenance fees if the timeshare doesn't sell. Charities know which timeshares will be difficult to sell and they won't accept them.

Charities want an easy and quick sale. That means that they only accept the best of the best in timeshares.

Not all charities resell them. Some will charge you a fee to accept the donation as their way of earning income in the process. The only one I know is Community Health Training, Inc. They charge a $500 service fee plus you pay closing costs but you get rid of the title and are finally free.

Most do not want to incurr the annual fees just like we dont anymore. A transfer company is the best bet. Pay a small fee and get out. I used Timeshare Aquisitions out of Orlando Florida. Worked fine.
