A timeshare which I've owned for many years has lost its RCI affiliation because they no longer meet minimum standards. The resort was nice when I purchased, but that was many years ago. This year, in addition to the regular maintenance fee, they charged an extra fee for renovations so they can try to get back to minimum RCI standards!
I only use this timeshare for exchanges. My question is: because the resort has failed to maintain the property and has lost one of the key benefits it had when I bought it (RCI affiliation), do I have any legal options as far as refusing to pay the maintenance fee? Can I legally just say "you haven't kept your end of the bargain, so you can have the unit back!"?
Thanks!
